Driven by an unwavering commitment to the game of tennis and to become successful at it, Barakamfitiye Yussuf has dedicated his life to the game of tennis. Though the road was rough and tough, his long-cherished vision for Tennis in Africa hasn’t gone unnoticed.

He started playing tennis at the age of 7 and was driven by passion and hard work as he rose through the ranks to play ATP World Tour in 2011 (Future Burundi). Because of his profound love for the game of tennis, Barakamfitiye ventured into coaching.

Originally from Burundi, he moved to South Africa in 2013 to pursue his career in South Arica. Yussuf Tennis Academy was establisehed in 2018 at the Gene Louw Primary School in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

With an unmatched reputation for excellence, Yussuf Tennis Academy is growing to become a high-performance center, catering for adults and children as young as 3 years old. With great attention to cover every aspect of a player’s training, students can refine their swings, serves and advance their skills.  Emphasizing on modern techniques and individualized coaching, Yussuf is able to achieve a great deal of success with his students, providing them with the skills needed to succeed as a competitive tennis player. By addressing both the physical and mental aspects of training, he is able to prepare students and help them recognize the value of a true champion inside.
